Inge Van Avermaet joined CESPE as Communication Officer in 2025. In this role, she develops and supports communication strategies that strengthen the cooperation between CESPE and academic and industrial partners.
She obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering in Agriculture and Biotechnology from HoGent and followed a Specific Teacher Training at Ghent University. Later, she further focused on medicine.
Her career started as a quality assistent at Cock’s Vleeswaren, where she was involved in product development, laboratory testing and food safety. She then started working as a technical assistant at Hypred, where she provided technical follow-up of installations for partners in the food industry.
Since 2009, Inge has been active as a teacher at the Oscar Romerocollege in Dendermonde, where she taught biology, physics and chemistry. In addition, she contributed to education for many years by writing scientific textbooks for Plantyn. More recently, she worked as a Good Manufacturing Practice Assistant at Ajinomoto Omnichem, where she supervised compliance with and optimization of quality requirements within production processes.
With a background in science and education, she will, together with Mark Gontsarik, also support the further development of the CESPE Academy.
